SHE AIN’T COMIN’ HOME AT NIGHT

by Stan C. Countz

Docta, I need a new prescription
Can’t seem to get to sleep at night
Been ta more than one physician
No one can seem ta get it right

I’m not sure, but I think I might
Have a cure for what’s ailin’ me
I think my eyes are failin’ me
‘cuz I just can’t see why
She ain’t comin’ home at night

I’ve tried those purple pills
But they’re still not workin’
I sure hope you’ve got somethin’
That will make it stop hurtin’

I keep wonderin’ and ponderin’
What I could’ve done differently
To keep her from wanderin’
And runnin’ away from me?

Wish I hadn’t been so mad and mean
I keep replaying and repeating
Each frame of that final scene
On the screen of my mind’s eye

I keep wonderin’ why
I can’t seem to get it right
I wish I knew what I could do
To get some sleep at night

CHORUS
I think I now know the reason why
I can’t seem to get to sleep at night
I miss her kissin’ n holdin’ me tight
But she ain’t comin’ home tonight

I ain’t jokin’ and I ain’t teasin’
If it ain’t broken give me one good reason
Why I should even try to fix it
When she just wants to 86 it

I’m tryin’ to stay open to logic and to reason
I keep hopin’ it’s just that time of the season
That she’ll change her mind and come home
That she’ll walk the line; never more to roam

I thought I always knew exactly what to do
Always thought I knew what I was there for
Wish I could kiss her; I really do miss her
But this wasn’t that easy to prepare for

I think I’ve finally figured out why
She ain’t comin’ home at night
She don’t wanna scream and fight
She’s tired of me having to be right

She wants someone to hold her tight
To give her her heart’s delight
And treat her right; that’s why
She ain’t comin’ home at night

Just wish I knew if we were really through
Why do I lay awake ‘til the break of dawn?
Before I even knew what was goin’ on
I turned around and she was gone

Why must I lay awake all night long?
Wakin’ up to the radio playin’ our favorite song
Wish I knew the truth about what went wrong
My heart is a ball in a game of ping pong

And I don’t know how to finish this song
Just wish I knew what really went wrong
Before I even knew what was goin’ on
I turned around and she was gone…

THINGS WILL COME AROUND

Lyrics by Stan C. Countz

When you’re sad and blue and feelin’ down
It seems the leaves will always be brown
Just remember it won’t always be November
Spring is just around the corner
You will soon rebound
Things will come around

Soon another road will come to view
Your strength and youth will be renewed
So don’t stay down too long
Let His love and joy abound
Things will come around

Don’t stay down in the dumps
Sometimes life can pack a punch
Ya gotta take your lumps
Don’t let it eat your lunch
Things will come around

When the enemy comes in
like a flood
You feel like you’ve been
Drug through the mud
Just hit your knees
Confess your need
And plead the blood

Sad days will be a thing of the past
Bad days never seem to last
The dye has been cast
Time goes by so fast
But He’s more than equal to the task
If you’ll only ask

Life has it’s ups and downs
But we don’t always count the cost
Don’t stay down too long
Even He didn’t stay on the cross
Things will come around

DON'T KNOW WHAT I'D DO

by Stan C. Countz

You always know just what to do
Even if I don’t have a clue
You are the glue that holds
This whole crew together

You are always faithful and true
You cheer me up when I’m feelin’ blue
There is no one quite like you
And I don’t know what I’d do without you

Without you… I don’t know what I’d do
Without you… I wouldn’t have a clue
Without you I’d be lost, alone and blue
Don’t know what I’d do without you

I love the things you say and do
The way you keep it fresh and new
The way you do the things you do
And I will love you forever

Without you… I don’t know what I’d do
Without you… I wouldn’t have a clue
Without you I’d be lost, alone and blue
Don’t know what I’d do without you

I’m gonna stick to you like glue
No matter what we choose to do
I know you’ll see me through
Don’t know what I’d do without you
